The CPOA Association is always proud to present
CROM awards to Canadian POAs who have achieved a high level of excellence
in various show disciplines. This year, AA’s Devil’s
Chicklet achieved her Canadian Supreme Champion award. She is also
rated as 1st Premium with the American Sport Pony Association.
AA’s Devil’s Chicklet is an 8
year old daughter of Canada’s first Supreme Champion Stallion,
S.S. Go U Devil
Go, both owned by AA’s POA Farm of Cloverdale, BC.
“Chicklet” was orphaned at a few weeks of age and it
took some time before she achieved her full potential. She was bred
to One Awesome Dually as a two-year-old and produced Awesome Dual
Ambition who was exported to Indianapolis, Indiana, USA before being
shown in Canada. The following year she was bred to AA’s Braveheart
and produced H.H.’s Lionheart owned by Kalina Sturm of Stony
Plain, AB. Lionheart was shown successfully several times as a weanling
and yearling. Chicklet then took matters in to her own hands and
bred herself to S.S. Go U Devil Go, producing a lovely filly named
AA’s Devil’s Boo Boo who is now owned by Kalina Sturm
after a couple of successful years of showing in Dustin Jeffery’s
capable hands.
By this time, Chicklet’s show career
was in full swing and she quickly proved herself a champion in halter,
performance and games, shown by her young rider Jessica Jeffery.
Over the past few years Jessica and AA’s Devil’s Chicklet
have won many high point awards in the 8 years and under and 12
years and under divisions. They have also earned overall mare at
halter in 2003 and Reserve overall mare at halter in 2004; Overall
Performance POA in 2003 & 2004; Reserve Overall Games in 2003
and Overall Games in 2004; Overall Mare in 2003 and 2004 as well
as Overall POA for the same years and in 2004 AA’s Devil’s
Chicklet achieved Reserve High Point Halter CPOA of British Columbia
in some very strong competition.
Chicklet is also well on her way to earning
her CROM in Colour and it is anticipated she will add the Plus to
her Supreme Championship in the not too distant future.

CANADIAN REGISTER OF MERIT PROGRAM
The most prestigious of awards to be won by POAs in POA competition
at approved CPOA point shows. This award recognizes the outstanding
ability of POAs in competition against other POAs. The POA receives
a certificate and has the initials of the award added to its registration
number. The CROM can be won in various divisions which are outlined
in the Official Show Rules book. The most common are the CROMs in
Halter, Non-Timed classes and Timed events. All POAs which show
in approved shows receive points automatically provided the registered
owner/lessor is a member of the CPOA Association. Points are collected
on an on-going basis throughout the life of the POA.
