Sport Pony Magazine Celebrates Two Years this April
Well folks, we are getting better at this – or at least, more efficient. Sport Pony Magazine has been in production for two years now, and this issue came together in record time. Part two of our two part series on determining your horse’s feed ration, by Stormy May, concludes with a broad sampling of internet resources on selenium. Also be sure to check out the feed formula conversion chart provided with our feed-themed book review, Beyond the Hay Days by Rex A. Ewing.
This issue also sees the start of a new series of three exercises that will be available to download from Storey Publishing’s 101 Dressage Exercises. The series kicks off with this month’s warm-up exercise, the Needlepoint.
The last feature I am proud to introduce is a new regular column, “Coach’s Tackbox™.” Each issue, this column will feature a new tip, trick, exercise, or visualization technique that coaches and riders can put in their mental tackbox. Readers are invited to send in their favourite suggestions for upcoming columns.
As I write this, we are surrounded by more snow than we’ve had at any point during this past winter, with no real thaw in sight for the immediate future. But, by the time the next issue rolls out in May, it will all be green grass and sunshine... Certainly everyone seems to have a bad case of spring fever. And, spring means new foals, so I’d like to remind breeders that our annual Foal Photo Gallery has been expanded this year to include two Galleries, one in June and one in September. Get your cameras ready and send in those baby pics!
Thanks for reading Sport Pony Magazine – we always welcome your thoughts, comments and opinions.
‘Til next issue, happy mucking,
Christy
