Hobby started training at Unicorn Stables with Tammie Blewett in
Surrey B.C. the fall of 2001. The following spring, Tammie and Hobby
started showing at the Three Day Events and Training Level Combined
Driving Events, always placing very well. By the middle of the year
he had proven himself to be an exceptional athlete, moving up to
Preliminary Level at the CDE’s where they finished off the
year.
In 2003, starting the year at the Preliminary Level, Tammie and
Hobby focused only on Combined Driving, competing throughout B.C.
and in Alberta at High Country, where they placed 3rd over all.
This year Tammie and Hobby will continue to compete on the CDE circuit,
with plans to travel to the USA . They will again start out the
year at the Preliminary Level, and are planning on advancing to
Intermediate mid-summer. Tammie, as co-owner of Unicorn Stables
in Surrey B.C., has some very talented students, one of whom is
Indiana Sedoriuk. Indiana has started riding Hobby this year and
will be showing him under saddle at the hunter/jumper shows and
Three Day Events. They have already attended Thunderbird this spring
for the 3' jumper classes and placed very well. (all clear rounds!!!)
Indiana also used Hobby for her dressage percentage day, again doing
very well.
Hobby, a registered Sec. B Welsh stallion was inspected in 2003
by the American Sport Pony Association, receiving his 1st Premium
status. Last fall Hobby's first foal was inspected, Evergreen Sunris,
who also received his 1st Premium status, scoring higher then his
sire and dam! Congratulations to Evergreen Stables.
Kim purchased Hobby as a yearling from Stan Young, and brought him
home that spring as a two year old. She picked his photo from a
stack that Stan had sent her, and writes, "Stan then also sent
out a video, Hobby was still the only one I wanted!! Hobby has been
the love of my life, besides my husband and family, hehe. He is
one VERY SPECIAL PONY!!!"
