Tani Anderson Awarded ProChaps Athlete of the Month Title
for September
Ottawa, Ontario---Jump Canada is pleased to announce that
Tani Anderson of Calgary, AB, has been named the ProChaps ‘Athlete
of the Month’ for September. Anderson was selected to receive
this award based on her victory as the 2004 Chrysler Canada Leading
Canadian Award.
The Chrysler Leading Canadian Rider Award is based on the 1.40m
to 1.45m Divisions at the Winter Wonderland, Spring Welcome, Spring
Run Off, and “Masters” Tournaments, with the “Masters”
points weighted at times two.
“It was definitely more difficult this year with the format
change. I really wanted to win because Illusion and I were only
one point behind Eric Lamaze for last year’s award.”
said Anderson. “ I decided to delay her retirement by one
year to give it one more try.” With Illusion, her 14-year-old
Dutch Warmblood mare by Calvados, Anderson returned early from her
winter circuit competition in Indio, CA, in order to participate
in the season long award. In the past, the Chrysler Canada Leading
Canadian Award was tabulated using only four events at 1.50m in
the All Canadian Ring during the Spruce Meadows “Masters”
Tournament. For the 2004 season, the format was modified to include
both indoor and outdoor competitions as well at the prestigious
“Masters” Tournament.
At the “Masters” Tournament, Anderson edged out Albert
Kley of Calgary, AB, who had been leading the standings all season.
For her victory, Anderson receives the use of a Chrysler vehicle
for one year.
“The greatest thing about winning is I got to choose any Chrysler
car,” remarked Anderson. “I picked the Chrysler Pacifica
because we have a family and the all wheel drive is a perfect option
in Alberta.”
In recognition
of her achievement, Anderson will receive a pair of riding chaps,
compliments of ProChaps. A Canadian manufacturer of high-performance
riding chaps, ProChaps is the proud sponsor of the Jump Canada ‘Athlete
of the Month’ program and rewards each selected rider with
a brand-new custom pair of its groundbreaking chaps. Using innovative
materials, ProChaps has radically advanced the construction of riding
chaps to cutting edge perfection. At the 2004 Spruce Meadows “Masters”
Tournament, ProChaps was selected to receive the prestigious award
of 2004 Equi-Fair New & Innovative Product Award for their original
and unique chap design. For more information, please visit www.prochaps.com.
